The Love That Never Walks Away
Scripture: Romans 8:38-39 (NIV): "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Opening
Have you ever watched someone you trusted slowly pull away? Maybe a friendship faded, a relationship ended, or someone who promised to stay simply didn't. Those experiences leave us wondering if any love can truly last—if we're even worthy of a love that stays.
Reflection
Here's the beautiful truth that changes everything: God's love isn't like human love. It doesn't depend on your performance, your mood, or whether you've had a good week spiritually. His love existed before you took your first breath, and it will remain long after your last.
Paul writes these words not as wishful thinking but as absolute conviction. He had seen the worst of humanity—and the worst in himself. Yet he was convinced that nothing in all creation could build a wall high enough to block God's love from reaching us.
Your failures? They don't disqualify you. Your doubts? They don't surprise Him. Your past? It doesn't define how He sees you. God's love is anchored in who He is, not in who you manage to be on your best days.
Today, you don't need to earn His affection or perform for His approval. You simply need to receive what has always been yours—a love that looked at all of you and chose to stay anyway.

Father, I confess I often measure Your love by human standards. Today, help me truly believe that nothing I've done or will ever do can make You love me less. Let this unchanging love reshape how I see myself and how I live. In Jesus' name, Amen.
