He's Calling You Into Deeper Waters - Daily Devotional

[HOOK] Maybe you've been playing it safe lately—staying where the water feels comfortable, where your feet can still touch the bottom. There's a restlessness in your spirit, a quiet knowing that God has more for you, yet the deep feels uncertain and unknown. [REFLECTION] Peter had been fishing all night in the shallows and caught nothing. He was exhausted, frustrated, and ready to call it quits. Then Jesus stepped into his boat and invited him somewhere uncomfortable: the deep. Here's what's beautiful about this invitation—Jesus didn't push Peter overboard. He didn't shame him for staying shallow. He simply said, 'Come further.' That's how God works with us. He doesn't force transformation; He extends an invitation. The shallow waters of faith feel manageable. We can control things there. But the deep? That's where we discover who God really is. That's where our small faith becomes sturdy faith. The deep is where miracles happen—where nets break from abundance we never expected. Maybe God is whispering to you today: 'There's more. Come further with Me.' The deep might feel risky, but you won't go alone. The One who calms storms is already in your boat, ready to show you what happens when you trust Him beyond your comfort zone. [STEPS] 1. Identify one area where God might be calling you to trust Him more deeply this week 2. Spend five minutes in silence, asking God what 'deeper waters' looks like for you right now 3. Take one small step of obedience today that stretches your faith beyond your comfort zone [PRAYER] Lord, I confess I've been clinging to the shallows because the deep feels scary. But I hear Your invitation, and I want more of You. Give me courage to push out from the shore. I trust that where You lead, You will sustain me. I'm ready to go deeper. Amen. [CLOSE] What would your life look like if you fully accepted God's invitation to go deeper with Him?
