Your New Beginning Starts Today - Daily Devotional
Maybe you're staring at the pieces of something that didn't work out—a relationship, a career, a dream you held so tightly. The weight of starting over feels crushing, and you wonder if you have the strength to try again. Friend, that trembling in your heart isn't weakness; it's the stirring of courage waiting to be released. Starting over is one of the bravest things a person can do. It requires admitting that something ended, grieving what was lost, and still choosing to believe that God has more for you. But here's the beautiful truth: our God specializes in new beginnings. He spoke light into darkness, brought life from an empty tomb, and He's not finished writing your story. Notice that God doesn't ask us to pretend the past didn't happen. He simply invites us not to set up permanent residence there. The rearview mirror is for glancing, not staring. What matters now is that God is doing something new—right here, right now, in your wilderness. Those streams in the wasteland? They represent provision you can't yet see. The path through the wilderness? It's being carved even as you read these words. Starting over doesn't mean you failed; it means you're faithful enough to follow God into unfamiliar territory. That takes holy courage. Today's Faith Steps: 1. Write down three things you're releasing to God from your past, then physically let go of the paper as a symbol of surrender. 2. Identify one small step toward your new beginning and take it within 24 hours. 3. Share your desire to start fresh with one trusted person who can encourage and pray for you. Prayer: Father, I'm scared to begin again, but I trust You more than I trust my fear. Help me release what was so I can receive what You have for me. Give me eyes to see the new thing You're doing and courage to walk toward it. I believe You're making a way. Amen. Reflection: What past season or disappointment have you been dwelling on that God is inviting you to release today?
