Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before You confessing my struggle with anger and bitterness. I acknowledge that these emotions have become strongholds in my life, and I need Your deliverance to walk free.
Lord, I confess the times I've let anger control me, when I've said hurtful words I can't take back, when I've damaged relationships through my temper. I also confess the bitterness I've harbored toward those who hurt me—nursing grudges, replaying offenses, and refusing to forgive. These sins have poisoned my soul and I'm ready to be free.
Father, I choose to forgive everyone who has wronged me. Though the hurt was real, I release them from my judgment and place them in Your hands. I refuse to let their actions continue to poison my life through bitterness. Where there's been betrayal, abuse, rejection, or injustice, I bring every painful memory to You for healing. Take away the sting and help me to remember without reliving the pain.
Holy Spirit, uproot every root of bitterness in my heart. Deliver me from the spirit of anger that makes me explode over small things. Teach me to control my temper and respond with grace instead of reacting with rage. Help me to be slow to anger and quick to forgive. Give me a gentle spirit that reflects Christ.
I decree that I am delivered from anger and bitterness. Love, forgiveness, and peace now rule my heart. I shall not let the sun go down on my wrath. I will not give place to the devil through unforgiveness. My heart is healed, my emotions are under control, and I walk in the fruit of the Spirit. Thank You, Father, for setting me free from these destructive emotions. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
