Introduction: A godly tongue is a tongue that is used to bless, to encourage, and to speak life. It is a wellspring of life. The enemy will try to use your tongue to curse, to discourage, and to speak death with spirits of gossip, of slander, and of "loose lips." You must wage war for your tongue, decreeing that your tongue is a tree of life and that you are a person who speaks with grace.

Warfare Decrees:

  1. In the name of Jesus, I take authority over my tongue.

  2. I decree that I do not have a tongue of destruction or of death; I have a tongue of life, of blessing, and of grace.

  3. I bind every spirit of gossip, of slander, of "loose lips," and of "foot-in-mouth" disease.

  4. I loose the spirit of blessing, of encouragement, of life-giving words, and of a powerful "let your speech always be with grace" anointing upon my tongue.

  5. I cancel every assignment of the enemy to use my tongue to destroy my relationships and to bring harm to others.

  6. I decree that I am a person who is "quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger."

  7. I plead the blood of Jesus over my tongue, cleansing it from all ungodly speech.

  8. I decree that my life is a life of "death and life are in the power of the tongue."

  9. I uproot every seed of a "I can't control my tongue" or of a "I was just kidding" mentality.

  10. I will not be a person who is a slave to gossip or to slander.

  11. I am an overcomer. I have victory over every ungodly word.

  12. I bind every spirit of anger and of bitterness that would try to poison my words.

  13. I decree that my life is a testimony of the power of a godly tongue to build up and to encourage others.

  14. I declare that my heart is being filled with the love of God, which will overflow from my mouth.

  15. I bind every spirit of pride that is at the root of slander (wanting to make myself look better by putting others down).

  16. I take back the ground that the enemy has stolen through my words.

  17. I decree that my life is marked by a spirit of gracious and life-giving speech.

  18. I will not be a victim of a "runaway tongue."

  19. I declare that my heart is set on being a person who speaks with wisdom and with kindness.

  20. I bind every spirit of passivity that would keep me from guarding my words.

  21. I am a child of God, and I am called to let no corrupting talk come out of my mouth.

  22. I decree that my season of loose lips is over, and my season of godly speech has come.

  23. I am a warrior, and I am fighting for a godly tongue.

  24. I am a person of gracious speech.

  25. I seal my victory for a life-giving, blessing, and God-glorifying godly tongue in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
