30 Decrees to Overcome the Spirit of Bitterness

Introduction: The spirit of bitterness is a demonic spirit that comes from an unforgiveness and from a resentment. It is a spirit of a "they hurt me" attitude, of a grudge, and of a "I'll never forgive them" feeling. It is a joy-killer and a soul-poisoner. This spirit must be bound, and a spirit of a forgiveness, of a grace, and of a "let all a bitterness be put away from you" anointing must be loosed.

Warfare Decrees:

1. In the name of Jesus, I come against the spirit of bitterness.

2. I renounce and reject you, spirit of bitterness, of an unforgiveness, and of a resentment.

3. I decree that I am not a bitter person; I am a forgiving, a gracious, and a "quick to forgive" child of God.

4. I bind the strongman of bitterness that has been trying to poison my heart and to destroy my relationships.

5. I loose the spirit of a forgiveness, of a grace, and of a powerful "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another" anointing into my life.

6. I cancel every assignment of the enemy to use bitterness to make me a joyless and an isolated person.

7. I repent for every time I have been bitter, have held a grudge, or have had an unforgiving heart.

8. I plead the blood of Jesus over my heart, cleansing it from all bitterness and from all unforgiveness.

9. I decree that my life is a life of "see to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no 'root of a bitterness' springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled."

10. I uproot every seed of a "I'll never get over this" or of a "they don't deserve my forgiveness" mentality.

11. I am an overcomer. I have victory over the spirit of bitterness.

12. I bind every spirit of a hurt and of an offense that fuels bitterness.

13. I decree that my life is a testimony of the power of a forgiveness to set a person free.

14. I declare that my mind is being renewed to think thoughts of a grace, not of a bitterness.

15. I bind every spirit of a pride that is at the root of an unforgiveness (thinking I'm too good to forgive).

16. I take back the joy, the peace, and the relationships that this spirit has stolen.

17. I decree that my life is marked by a spirit of a joyful and of a consistent forgiveness.

18. I will not be a victim of a "bitter" life.

19. I declare that my heart is full of the love of God, which "keeps no record of a wrongs."

20. I bind every spirit of a self-pity that would make me want to hold on to my bitterness.

21. I am a child of God, and I am called to forgive as I have been forgiven.

22. I decree that my season of bitterness is over, and my season of a forgiveness has come.

23. I am a warrior for a forgiving heart.

24. I am a person of forgiveness.

25. I seal my total and permanent freedom from the spirit of bitterness in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
