30 Decrees to Overcome the Spirit of Desolation

Scripture for Meditation: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." — 2 Corinthians 10:4

Introduction: The spirit of desolation is a demonic spirit that seeks to bring barrenness, emptiness, and ruin to your life. It is a spirit of a "nothing is working" feeling, of hopelessness, and of a "what's the use" attitude. It is the spirit that turns a fruitful garden into a desolate wilderness. This spirit must be bound, and a spirit of fruitfulness, of restoration, and of a "beauty for ashes" anointing must be loosed.

Warfare Decrees:

1. In the name of Jesus, I come against the spirit of desolation.

2. I renounce and reject you, spirit of desolation, of barrenness, and of ruin.

3. I decree that I am not a desolate person; I am a fruitful, a restored, and a flourishing child of God.

4. I bind the strongman of desolation that has been trying to bring ruin to my life, to my family, or to my finances.

5. I loose the spirit of fruitfulness, of restoration, of new beginnings, and of a powerful "beauty for ashes" anointing into my life.

6. I cancel every assignment of the enemy to use desolation to make me a hopeless and fruitless person.

7. I repent for every time I have given in to a spirit of desolation or have had a hopeless attitude.

8. I plead the blood of Jesus over my life, cleansing it from all the effects of desolation and of ruin.

9. I decree that my life is a life of "the Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame."

10. I uproot every seed of a "nothing ever works out for me" or of a "my life is a mess" mentality.

11. I am an overcomer. I have victory over the spirit of desolation.

12. I bind every spirit of hopelessness and of despair that fuels desolation.

13. I decree that my life is a testimony of the power of God to turn a wilderness into a garden.

14. I declare that my mind is being renewed to think thoughts of restoration, not of ruin.

15. I bind every spirit of a curse that is at the root of desolation.

16. I take back the ground that this spirit has stolen in my life.

17. I decree that my life is marked by a spirit of joyful and fruitful restoration.

18. I will not be a victim of a "desolate" life.

19. I declare that my heart is full of hope for the future.

20. I bind every spirit of passivity that would keep me from rebuilding the ruins.

21. I am a child of God, and my God is a God of restoration.

22. I decree that my season of desolation is over, and my season of fruitful restoration has come.

23. I am a warrior, and I am rebuilding the ancient ruins.

24. I am a person of hope.

25. I seal my total and permanent freedom from the spirit of desolation in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Closing Declaration: I seal these declarations with the blood of Jesus. What I have bound on earth is bound in heaven. What I have loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. I stand in the victory of Christ, and I declare that the enemy's plans are destroyed. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
