30 Decrees to Overcome the Spirit of Passivity

Scripture for Meditation: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." — 2 Corinthians 10:4

Introduction: The spirit of passivity is a demonic spirit that makes you a spectator in your own life. It is a spirit of inaction, of indifference, and of a "let someone else do it" attitude. It is the spirit that kept Adam from speaking up in the garden. This spirit is a destiny-killer and a faith-neutralizer. It must be bound, and a spirit of a holy and of a proactive engagement must be loosed.

Warfare Decrees:

1. In the name of Jesus, I come against the spirit of passivity.

2. I renounce and reject you, spirit of passivity, of inaction, and of a "spectator" mentality.

3. I decree that I am not a passive person; I am an active, an engaged, and a responsible child of God.

4. I bind the strongman of passivity that has been trying to neutralize my will.

5. I loose the spirit of diligence, of initiative, and of a "can-do" attitude into my life.

6. I cancel every assignment of the enemy to use passivity to make me miss my opportunities and to forfeit my destiny.

7. I repent for every time I have failed to act when I should have.

8. I plead the blood of Jesus over my will, strengthening it to be proactive and to be engaged.

9. I decree that my life is a life of "taking the Kingdom by force."

10. I uproot every seed of a "it's not my problem" or of a "I'll do it later" mentality.

11. I am an overcomer. I have victory over the spirit of passivity.

12. I bind every spirit of lethargy and of procrastination that works with passivity.

13. I decree that my life is a testimony of being a person of action and of initiative.

14. I declare that my mind is being renewed to think like a problem-solver, not like a problem-ignorer.

15. I bind every spirit of fear that is at the root of passivity.

16. I take back the ground that I have lost through inaction.

17. I decree that my life is marked by a spirit of a holy and of a righteous aggression against the works of darkness.

18. I will not be a victim of a life of "watching from the sidelines."

19. I declare that my heart is fully engaged in the purposes of God.

20. I bind every spirit of hopelessness that fuels passivity.

21. I am a child of God, and I am a co-worker with Him.

22. I decree that my season of passivity is over, and my season of action has come.

23. I am a warrior, and warriors are not passive.

24. I am a person of responsibility.

25. I seal my total and permanent freedom from the spirit of passivity in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Closing Declaration: I seal these declarations with the blood of Jesus. What I have bound on earth is bound in heaven. What I have loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. I stand in the victory of Christ, and I declare that the enemy's plans are destroyed. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
