Introduction: Grief is a natural response to loss, but it can become a demonic spirit that creates a permanent state of sorrow, hopelessness, and depression. This spirit of grief seeks to paralyze you in your past and to prevent you from moving into your future. While mourning is healthy, being a prisoner of grief is not. You must command this spirit to loose its hold.

Warfare Decrees:

  1. In the name of Jesus, I come against the spirit of grief and sorrow.

  2. I acknowledge my loss, but I refuse to be a prisoner of my grief.

  3. I bind you, spirit of grief, hopelessness, and despair. Loose your hold on my heart.

  4. I decree that the joy of the Lord is my strength, even in this season of mourning.

  5. I loose the comfort of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to heal my broken heart.

  6. I cancel every assignment of the enemy to use this grief to lead me into depression.

  7. I plead the blood of Jesus over my memories, cleansing them from the sting of trauma.

  8. I decree that weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming in the morning. My morning is coming now.

  9. I uproot every seed of bitterness against God or against others related to this loss.

  10. I decree that my future is bright and full of hope, not defined by my past loss.

  11. I am an overcomer. I have victory over the spirit of grief.

  12. I will not allow this grief to become my identity.

  13. I decree that I am receiving a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning.

  14. I bind every spirit of isolation that would try to cut me off from my community.

  15. I declare that my life still has purpose and meaning.

  16. I take back the hope and the vision that this spirit of grief has stolen.

  17. I decree that my heart is being healed and made whole.

  18. I will not be a victim of complicated or prolonged grief.

  19. I declare that I am moving forward into the new things God has for me.

  20. I bind every spirit of death that is associated with this grief.

  21. I choose life.

  22. I decree that my best days are ahead of me, not behind me.

  23. I am a person of faith, and my hope is anchored in God.

  24. I am releasing my pain and I am receiving His peace.

  25. I seal my healing and my freedom from the spirit of grief in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
